ECMX® updated its Android Phone/Tablet Mobile C12.22 Node that is able to communicate IEEE Std 1377™ / ANSI
C12.19 Smart Grid End Device data using the IEEE Std 1703™ / ANSI C12.22 Advanced Metering Infrastructure.
This is a compact application software that was created by the Energy Communications Management eXchange®,
and now it is freely available
The C12.22 Mobile Node is a downloadable software package (.APK) that implements a small footprint, a
first of its kind, ANSI C12.22 / IEEE Std 1703™ Android mobile Node. The application runs on any device that
supports the Android Phone/Tablet operating system. It makes full use of the global communication and the
integrated GPS for End Device operations.
The C12.22 Mobile Node installs as an ANSI C12.22 / IEEE Std 1703™ communication service (driver) and an
C12.22 Node application that provides server and client services. This mobile C12.22 Node can attach to any
C12.22 Network, via the Internet (e.g. WIFI) or any mobile data carrier (e.g. 4G, LTE etc.), and can operate
its Message Bus behind or through firewall seamlessly. Once installed and associated with the network, the
C12.22 Mobile Node can monitor network operations (per C12.22 Device-group Domain locating Patterns using
the C12.22 Smart Grid AMI Message-Bus architecture). Using the C12.22 AMI Network the C12.22 Node can be
notified about power outages, service-truck dispatch location, End Device (meters, thermostats, relays)
locations. It can (of course) read any C12.22 conforming Smart Meter or appliance. It can also display ANSI
C12.19 / IEEE Std 1377™ End Device identification records and energy register readings (e.g. KWh) in real
time, from anywhere worldwide while connected to the Global C12.22 Network. ECMX®, the creator of this
technology, provides access to a Root C12.22 Master Relay and boundary C12.22
Relays in support of these capabilities.
The application is available only from the ECMX website (we will publish it on Google Play shortly).
Note: In order to register with the C12.22
Network your mobile C12.22 Node must have a properly (uniquely) assigned Electronic Serial Number (ESN) and
an Application name Title (ApTitle) that is also globally unique.
Given that ECMX® maintains a registry and assigns ESNs and ApTitles, all you need
to do is to have access to a free account on this ECMX® website, which is automatically linked to the ECMX®
Master Relay that will service your mobile C12.22 Node on the public demonstration C12.22 Network.
If you do not have an existing ECMX® account, you may create a FREE member's
account or by pressing the button on your mobile C12.22
Node (accessible via the "Validate ESN" menu selection). Alternatively you may create an account directly on
the ECMX website by clicking the button.
